With confidence, maturity, and an indisputable voice, Taylor Dayne stands out as one of music's most dynamic artists. She has proven to be one of a few performers who, by virtue of sheer talent, can withstand the test of time. Taylor Dayne's unique vocal style has earned her two double platinum albums and several Grammy nominations. Her appeal transcends the genres of Pop, Dance and Adult Contemporary music. Taking control of her musical career, Taylor Dayne now finds herself at the helm of her own label, Neptune Records (through River North Records and PolyGram Group Distribution), celebrating the release of a new album, Naked Without You. Not surprisingly, the first single from the album is called, Unstoppable. "This feels like my debut, as I am more involved creatively than ever before," says Dayne. "The album marks tremendous growth for me in songwriting and production." Taylor Dayne hails from New York, where she grew up surrounded by music. "As an artist, I fe Hitting the New York clubs like CBGB's, the Bottom Line and Trax by night and studying music theory and composition in college by day, she honed both her vocal prowess and dramatic presence. Taylor also received classical training from Maestro Carelli, Master at the Met and Julliard. In 1985 she joined a new wave band, The Next, but decided she could best pursue her musical calling with a solo career. It was at this time that Taylor met producer Ric Wake, and began a collaboration that led to the making of Tell It To My Heart, the 1988 debut album that skyrocketed her into super-stardom. With enthusiastic support from the dance club community, the single Tell It To My Heart leapt from dance charts to pop charts and up into the Top 10, followed by I'll Always Love You, Prove Your Love and Don't Rush Me. Her second album, Can't Fight Fate, surpassed Dayne's debut effort with a string of hits, including Every Beat of My Heart, I'll Be Your Shelter, Heart of Stone and the #1 smash, Love Will Lead You Back. Taylor Dayne climbed the charts again with her third album, Soul Dancing, which featured a remake of Barry White's classic Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, an ambitious undertaking few pop stars would have the will to try or soul to pull off.
Dayne then went on to star in the films Fools Paradise, with Corey Parker, and Stag, with Andrew McCarthy and Kevin Dillon, in which she played the part of a stripper being held against her will. An artist who refuses to be defined by trends, Taylor Dayne's appeal crosses the boundaries of age, gender and culture. With the release of her album Naked Without You, Taylor proves once again that she is one of music's most enduring and dynamic performers.
