Paul Hornung
Football great Paul Hornung is available for your next special event!
Paul Hornung: the name is synonymous with Notre Dame football, pro football, radio and television and a variety of successful business ventures. Paul will relate his drive and desire to be the best, instilled in him by Vince Lombardi, to the desire to be the best that you, your firm, and your industry need, in today’s competitive marketplace.
Hornung was an All-American quarterback at Notre Dame in 1955 & 1956, winning the coveted Heisman Trophy in ‘56. He was drafted #1 by the Green Bay Packers in 1957. In 1959, the addition of legendary coach Vince Lombardi in Green Bay, Paul and the Packers went on to become one of the greatest teams in pro football history. A member of 4 NFL championship teams and one Super Bowl, Hornung was an All-Pro 4 times, was the league’s MVP in 1960 and 1961, holds the league record for most points in a season with 176, most points in a championship game, and most points in a Pro Bowl with 19. In 1985 he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. The very next year Paul was inducted into the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Since his retirement in 1967 he has over 30 years experience in radio and television. His credits include:
- National radio ABC - USFL games
- National Cable on Notre Dame Football broadcasts for 21 years
- Color Analyst CBS-TV - 8 years
- Play-by-Play CBS-TV
- National Cable - Turner Broadcasting
He has hosted 2 Syndicated television shows:
- Sports Legends (5 years)
- Football Saturday Live (Atlanta, Ted Turner)
Presently, he owns and produces "The Paul Hornung Sports Showcase" - a national cable television.
He is now the president of The Paul Hornung sports Showcase, a real Estate Development company. He is president of Paul Hornung Investment, Inc., owners of Louisville Golden Foods/Golden Brands. He is Vice-President of Old Kentucky Trust and owns rights to Notre Dame programs and radio for Notre Dame basketball.
