Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Brooke Bennett
To say Brooke was a phenom at the age of 16 years old when she stormed the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games would not give her ample respect. A phenom represents a meteoric rise in a short period of time. The problem with that description, Brooke is still getting better and that is bad news for the rest of the 400m, 800m and 1,500m swimmers in the World.
Considered by many to be one of the all-time best middle and long distance swimmers in the world, Brooke has earned all of her accolades. Look at some of her amazing accomplishments: 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist (800m Freestyle), 1997 Double Gold Medalist at the Pan Pacific Games (800m & 1500m Freestyle), 1998 World Champion (800m Freestyle).
