Designer Taniya Nayak

As seen on HGTV's "Designed to Sell" - Taniya Nayak is available to appear at your next Home and Garden Expo or special event.

Taniya Nayak watched her architect father of Nayak Architects, design exquisite homes, hotels, and shopping malls. With this kind of inspiration surrounding her throughout her life, Nayak opted for a career in interior design.

Shortly after attending The Boston Architectural Center for her masters in Interior Design, Taniya landed her first television gig on ABC Family's Knock First, working for Scout Productions (creators of Queer Eye For the Straight Guy). Taniya was one of four designers/ hosts of the hit television show geared towards hip, young, and ambitious teens.

Currently, Taniya finds a way to help homeowners get innovative with the things they already have in their homes on the new HGTV series, FreeStyle. Nayak was ranked in the top 10 of India New England's Business Women of the Year in 2004.

Her list of clients include celebrities Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Erik Per Sullivan of Malcolm in the Middle, and Tyler Christopher of General Hospital. Nayak's designs can be seen in several Boston hotspots including Felt's fourth floor, Bar Lola Restaurant, Zita, and Vinalia.

Her company Design Digs was created to fill a void that Taniya Nayak saw in the design world. Based on her experience in designing for kids, teens, and young adults, she wants to focus on designing affordable yet inspirational spaces for the younger generation. Nayak says, " A teen's room is their everything- sleep space, study space, and hang out space. It's important to design a room that can grow with the child." Taniya's main goal whether she is designing for a child, adult, or a restaurant is to evoke a personality tied in with comfort and function.
