Rex Smith

Entertain your corporate audience with Rex Smith and his "Confessions Of A Teen Idol"!

Star of stage, screen and recordings - Rex Smith has created a charming show entitled "Confessions Of A Teen Idol" in which Rex refers to himself as a 'Stand-Up Vocalist'. Like a modern Will Rogers, Rex blends tales of his career with the music that made him famous. The shows encompasses his early Rock career (opening act for Ted Nugent, Lynard Sknyrd, Boston, Foreigner, etc.) Next, we follow Rex through the often hilarious adventures as a "Teen Idol" to millions of adoring fans,. Lastly, we take a 'Backstage Journey' on a tour of the dozen Broadway shows Rex has starred in.

Rex is unique simply because few entertainers have covered every aspect of show business. Your guests will enjoy a high return for your entertainment dollar as Rex delivers a show with the caliber of Broadway Talent. Recently Rex sold out a 500 seat venue in Boston on January 31st (the night before the Super Bowl). Rex's show was so impressive that he was signed as the headiner act for the 'Big E' - the Massachusetts State Fair, the eighth largest State Fair in the country!

Rex Smith made his Broadway debut as Danny Zuko in the original production of "Grease!" He received the Theater World Award for his portrayal of Frederick in "The Pirates of Penzance" on Broadway, and also starred in the film adaptation. Other starring roles on Broadway include "The Human Comedy," "Grand Hotel," "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and most recently "Annie Get Your Gun." Rex has also starred in Lincoln Center's "Anything Goes," The Kennedy Center's "West Side Story," and the Canadian production of "Sunset Boulevard." National tours include "Grease!," "Joseph..." "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Godspell" and "They're Playing Our Song."

On TV, Rex hosted "Solid Gold," starred in ABC's "Street Hawk" and Daytime's "As The World Turns." TV movies include "Sooner or Later" (also the title of his platinum album featuring the hit song, "You Take My Breath Away"), "Daredevil" and Danielle Steele's "Once in a Lifetime." Rex has guest starred on the prime time series "Norm," "JAG," "Caroline in the City," "The Sentinel," "Baywatch" and "Pacific Blue."

Most recently, Rex recorded his sixth album, SIMPLY...REX for MCA-Universal Records.
