Mila MasonWe recently produced an event with Mila Mason. Mila can also be available for your next special event.
Kentucky born, Mila was raised in Dawson Springs by single mom, Diane Mason. Mila has no hesitation in offering that her musical aspirations are absolutely inherited. Her natural ardor for music was fostered over generations. The music was already in her veins. Both Mila's grandmother and mother were singers. Diane Mason, had a thriving career as a performer. She toured in Europe and had a regular show in Las Vegas opening for The Commodores. And today, Mila strikes a complimentary balance between her own heritage and the new generation of Country music that she can call her own. At the age of 15, Mila began to perform at some of her mom's shows. When she turned 17, they moved to Nashville and Mila made up her mind. She wanted to begin her music career. She left high school and obtained her GED via self-study all the while banging on doors to get attention.
Discovered through a friend of a friend of a friend in 1993 by renowned producer, Blake Mevis (of George Strait, Vern Gosdin, Keith Whitley fame), Mevis became an immediate fan. He took Mila into the studio, recorded some sides and delivered the product to Atlantic Records Vice President, Bryan Switzer. Mila was signed to Atlantic in 1996. Mila's debut Atlantic Records album, That's Enough Of That, appeared on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart on March 22, 1997 where it held its position for 13 weeks. The title cut by the same name entered the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart and was followed by her signature song "Dark Horse" which landed at No. 21 on the chart in 1997. Mila's sophomore project, The Strong One, (also produced by Mevis) was released in 1998 and featured the memorable single "Closer To Heaven." After recording and releasing her second album, Mila felt driven to concentrate on her songwriting craft--the reason she came here. She departed the label with the determination to accomplish that very objective. The decision was climacteric in Mila's career. It was a risk, but a risk she knew she had to take for herself, for Mila Mason--the artist.
Since her decision to take personal time off to define her talents as a song crafter and devote her concentration on her next project, she has re-married, had her third child and signed with a new label.
Mila signed with the indie label Twinbeat Records (a division of Brumley Music Group) in May 2003. Her debut album Stained Glass Window is a pivotal record in her career. It features ten songs, written and co-written by Mila Mason. Her artistry as a songwriter and talent as a stylist is clearly evident throughout the entire project.
Mila collaborated efforts to co-produce the project with Michael D. Clute, Mike Porter and Mike Wrucke."You should always find someone who believes in you more than you believe in yourself.
Mila Mason has a gift for relaying the heart of a song. She's an honest artist in terms of what she sings. She's an artistic songwriter who can wrap lyrics around a song to tell a story that is tangible. She has a unique way of reeling in her audience. She doesn't just deliver the music, she brings her audience into her music. With every performance, with every song, it's personal. Stained Glass Window -- it's personal. She's made her mark Mila Mason is now available for your next corporate event. Contact us today to arrange an appearance for your next special event. |
